Around 7:15 tonight, I finished visiting my last home to encourage people to vote in tomorrow’s election. All day I have had people contact me wishing me luck tomorrow and asking if I am nervous. Well, I have answered that question by saying “No, I am not.” Practically everyone is shocked at my response. Tonight when I go to bed, I know that I have done everything I could with the resources that I had available to me. I have run a very positive, clean, and issue focused campaign. As I have said throughout the campaign, at the end of the day, people are the only thing that matters. I have met some wonderful people along the way and without a doubt, I have found my message resonates with every person I have been fortunate to meet.
If you did not vote last week or absentee, please vote tomorrow. This is your chance to take part in government! I am hopeful that I will be in the run-off. so, be sure to vote.
Finally, thank you for your kindness to me and my family.
All my best,
Mike

After a great deal of thought, research, and discussion I have put together a list of initiatives that I am proposing that I consider to be my Contract with Henry County Citizens. Running for an elected position is a job interview and the voters of Henry County represent the interview team/employers. I have placed before each of you my resume, my beliefs, and my ideas. Now, I offer to you the initiatives that I believe we can accomplish in four years. As I have stated, I am asking for your trust for four years.
Please review this list. I realize that this is a very ambitious list, but I am committed to making changes that will benefit all Henry County residents. As always, thank you for your time.
Contract with Henry County Citizens
Thank you.

In the coming weeks, please be sure to visit Hampton and see what a transformation the new streetscape program has made to the downtown area. In yesterday’s parade, the city held a ribbon cutting officially recognizing the streetscape opening. Although I got off the truck to introduce myself and missed that the parade started again, I still enjoyed it. For those that did not see me on the truck, I was there, just a little behind. Shirley, Madeleiene, and Reagan were focused on throwing candy that they probably did not realize that I was not there.
The family enjoyed visiting McBrayer Park after the parade. For me, it was great to meet and greet while Madeleine and Reagan were playing and having fun.

I enjoyed meeting people in the Fairview Community today. Having listened, it is clear that Fairview citizens feel that they have been left out. Please know that I listen and I will work to ensure that all communities are a part of the process. I believe in inclusion, not exclusion. I am also humbled that several of you spoke about my tenure on the Zoning Board and my consistent support of all districts. Remember that at the end of the day, we are all Henry County residents.
Thank you again and I will be back visiting and gathering more information from you this week.
